Boat Safety
We want all passengers aboard the Little Toot to understand that the captain and crew have your security in mind at all times. Our boats are US Coast Guard certified. They are inspected each year to ensure safe passage into the Gulf of Mexico and in the Clearwater Harbor. Most vessels of our size are restricted to traveling only in the inner-coastal waterways.
Our boat has enhanced stability and weather decks. As a result, we are safe to travel 3 miles off shore, as well as normal inner-coastal waterways. Because of this, we’re able to locate and watch dolphins in all of their natural habitats.
All of our captains are US Coast Guard licensed and drug tested. All staff and crew are certified in first aid and CPR. Our crew has been with us for meaning years with even more years of boating experience around their belt. We are proud to have what we feel is the the best crew in the marina
In short, when you come aboard the Little Toot, you are in good hands. Your kids are in good hands as well! Children of all ages love our boat tours and there is no age minimum to ride the Little Toot. Our tours are very interactive, there is never a dull moment. From watching dolphins jump alongside the boat to listening to interesting facts about Florida’s marine life, we are constantly engaging with our passengers.
Though you are very close to the dolphins, you are in no danger of falling out of the boat. Our boats come with higher than required safety netting, so that you can feel secure on the vessel without feeling like you cannot see all the action.
The Little Toot is complete with a large canopy for plenty of shade from the Florida sun and we also offer plenty of refreshments to keep you cool throughout the tour. The boat is equipped with easily accessible, clearly marked, USCG approved life jackets. These are not required to be worn. We have sufficient life jackets for all passengers and crew.
Sometimes the weather in Florida can be unpredictable, we try not let it ruin our fun. But if there is lightening, heavy rains, or strong winds, we don’t feel it is safe enough for our passengers and crew. In this event, we will cancel the tour and refund or reschedule your trip. However, light rain or quick summer showers are no problem for us.
